The Alfonso family migrated from Cuba in 1980, via the Mariel, bringing with them their Cuban charm and flavor. Their goal was to work hard and establish themselves in this country. In 1983, the Alfonso family partnered with another Cuban family, (name them), to initially establish this business trade known as “La NuevaCrema ” on 3701 Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, Florida. The business was a success up until 1985 when the contract with the locale expired. At this time, the Alfonso family decided it was time to take the leap of faith and establish a business for themselves. An independent entity, J. Alfonso Corporation, was established. After a long journey of sacrifices and the support of great friends, local business owners, Capri Bakery & Restaurant opened its doors on February 13, 1986 for the first time and has developed into an almost 40-year successful family-owned business.
