Since 1986, the Alfonso family has been filling Capri's bakery case with Cuban bread, flaky pastries, empanadas and croquetas — and pouring café con leche from 5:30 in the morning. Stop in on Southern Blvd for a cafecito and a pastelito, or order a Cuban cappuccino cake for your next celebration.

Capri opened on Southern Blvd on February 13, 1986, started by the Alfonso family after they arrived from Cuba through Mariel in 1980. Nearly four decades later it's still family-run — and the bakery counter is still where most mornings begin: Cuban bread, pastries, empanadas, croquetas and a strong cafecito.
What sets Capri apart from a bakery-only counter is the kitchen behind it. The same family cooks a full Cuban menu from breakfast to dinner, seven days a week, so a pastry run can easily turn into a Cuban sandwich for lunch or a plate of ropa vieja for dinner.
What you'll find at the counter. Selection changes through the day — call (561) 655-1602 to ask what's fresh or to place a larger order.
Cuban bread with a thin, crackly crust and a soft, airy middle — the loaf behind every Cubano and every buttered tostada.
Flaky Cuban pastries, sweet and savory, made for a quick bite alongside a cafecito at the counter.
Golden, hand-held turnovers — an easy grab-and-go breakfast or lunch on Southern Blvd.
Creamy ham croquettes, breaded and fried. Grab a few to go, or have them pressed into a Croqueta Preparada.
A Capri specialty for birthdays, anniversaries and office parties. Call ahead to order yours.
Pastry, cakes and full food packages sized for your event, from the same family kitchen.
Pastries, empanadas, croquetas and bread are priced at the bakery counter.
In Cuban neighborhoods from Havana to Hialeah, the day starts at the bakery window. Order a café con leche with tostada — Cuban bread pressed flat and buttered — and dunk it. Or keep it quick with a cafecito and a pastelito on the way to work.
Capri opens at 5:30 AM Monday through Saturday and 7 AM on Sunday, so it's an easy stop before I-95 or an early flight out of PBI. Staying longer? Sit down on the patio for a full Cuban breakfast.
Planning a birthday, baby shower, quinceañera or office party? Capri makes Cuban cappuccino cakes and pastry for events, and can round out the table with a full Cuban spread — even a whole roast pig. See catering or call (561) 655-1602 to talk through your date and headcount.
